Perfect Pancakes!

How To Make The Perfect Pancakes!
How to make the perfect pancakes!

I wanted to treat myself and my family to a delicious Saturday breakfast a few weeks ago that was a little different! This is when I went off to the internet to see what I could find.
I came across the recipe for Jamie Oliver's American style pancakes and thought they looked amazing! Here is how I made my pancakes and decorated them, but of course, you can decorate them however you like! So let's get started!

Ingredients:

  • 3 large free-range eggs
  • 115 g plain flour
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
  • 140 ml milk

Recipe:

1. Seperate your eggs into 2 bowls; egg whites in one bowl and yolks in the other
2. Add all other ingredients to the bowl with the yolks and mix until smooth

3. Add 1 pinch of sea salt to the egg whites and whisk until stiff peaks begin to form
4. Gently add the egg whites to the rest of the ingredients, making sure not to knock out the air in the peaks in the process.Your pancake mix is now ready!

5. Pour some of the pancake mix into the middle of an oiled frying pan at a medium temperature

I found that the mix was ready to be flipped when multiple air bubbles appeared on the surface of the pancake (between 1 and 2 minutes each side)

6. Before you flip your pancake, feel free to add ingredients into the batter such as blueberries or chocolate chips!

7. When each pancake is cooked, create a stack on one plate to help keep them all warm until ready to be eaten

8. Finally, enjoy these delicious pancakes with lots of different toppings such as yoghurt, honey, berries, chocolate chips... or anything you want!
